It is with a sad heart that we announce the passing of James Herbert â??Herbâ?? Crerar, on Sunday, May 10, 2015, surrounded by his family.

Herb was born on June 25, 1927 in Grande Prairie.

Herb will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years Irene and their children: son Larry (Rose) Crerar and their daughters Cristin (Vince) Low and Jill (Wade) Caughlin; daughter Linda (Murray) Elliott and their sons Michael Elliott and Patrick (Heather) Elliott; son Phillip (Maureen) Crerar and their children Melissa Crerar (Joey), Curtis Crerar (Laken) and Travis (Kayla) Crerar. His nine great-grandchildren: Zachary, Kaydence, Arden, Lucy, Kohen, Joelle, Caidyn, Mackenzie and Riley, they were always a delight and he loved them so. He is also survived by his siblings Ken Crerar and Olive Crain; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Herb will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, strength and patience.

We will miss him dearly and he will forever be in our hearts; especially when a beautiful sunset unfolds in front of us as it did when he passed.

The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 2:00pm at Oliverâ??s Funeral Chapel in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).
