Obituary For Herta Kitzmann Schulz

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother and sister Herta Schulz (Kitzmann). She passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016, at Points West Hospice, in Grande Prairie, AB, at the age of 76 years.

Mom was born and raised in Hines Creek, AB. This is where she met her husband, Rudolf. They married, started a family and settled into farm life. After a couple of years they decided to move to Grande Prairie where she remained until her passing.

Mom was proud of her flowers and garden and it showed as you would never find a weed in sight. Herta loved to share treats she had made and tucked away, or a meal that would hit the spot. When her grandchildren came along, she loved to spoil them. Whether it was sewing, crocheting or attending the many sporting events the boys were involved in.

Mom worked briefly and did some volunteer work. But family was her main focus.

Herta will be forever loved and missed by her husband Rudolf, daughter Debbie (Norman), and grandchildren Darcy and Curtis. She is survived by her sisters: Lydia, Erna, Marguerite, Lena and Lorraine (Fred); and brothers Albert (Nadia), Otto and Arthur (Sheila).

She was predeceased by her mother Martha, father Ferdinand, sisters Hilda and Olga Dimmer, and brothers Robert, Rudolph, Edward, Walter and Eric.

Upon Herta’s request, a Graveside Memorial Service will be held in the spring.

A special thanks to the Staff of Points West Hospice, QEII Cancer Clinic, Cross Cancer Clinic, Dr. Moreau, and Dr. Pope for all their care and compassion.
