Howard MacDonald of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Dawson Creek, BC, passed away suddenly on August 27, 2017 at the age of 59 years.

Howard was born to Ira and Pauline MacDonald in Pouce Coupe, BC. “Howie” was the nickname given to him by his family. Howie was an energetic son who enjoyed growing up close to his Grandma Garrison and Aunt Pris.

Howie was the 4^th son out of 5 brothers. He attended school in Dawson Creek until grade nine. He attended Army Cadets until he was of eligible age and joined the Millitia for several years until his discharge due to health complications.

He enjoyed being employed by the Rotary House as one of their Custodians until his passing.

Howard had some behavioral challenges, which at times effected his daily life. However, He always enjoyed a friendly smile and overlooked his disadvantages with a gentle chat over a coffee at Starbucks or a meal at Denny’s where he was known and respected.

Howard loved to tease and joke and always expressed the 3 most important interests in his lifetime: God, Mother and family.

He enjoyed spending a lot of time with his Mother, attending Pards, Snap Fitness and a variety of coffee shops and restaurants throughout the city. Denny’s was his favourite place to eat his beloved pancakes with lots of syrup.

He will be deeply missed by his mother Pauline MacDonald; surviving brothers John and Colin; Caregiver Barb Magee; as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins. Howard will also be missed by all supporting Caregivers with McMan Family Youth and Community Services.

A Memorial Service and Tea will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at 11:00am, at the Salvation Army Community Church in Grande Prairie (9525 83 Ave.).
