Obituary For Howard Pete Hancharuk

Howard Hancharuk of Grande Prairie, AB passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 6, 2018, at the age of 79 years.

Howard was born to Alex and Anne Hancharuk in Spedden, AB. He was the eldest of five children.

Howard worked for Halliburton Services for 35 years. Upon retirement, he worked at the Co-op Gas Bar where he loved meeting new people. Howard was all about family, friends, and food! Howard loved chasing down and refinishing antiques (and never let any of them go); fishing and sharing in the passions of his grandkids – Des (travel/photography); Sierra (animals/Ukrainian food); Rylan (football/weight lifting); Shea (music, music, music!); and Dawson (ballet/horses).

Howard leaves to mourn his loving wife of 54 years, Helen; son Michael (Laura) and their children Rylan and Dawson; daughter Tanya (Buck) Iles and their children Des, Sierra (Brendon) Campbell, and Shea; brother Jim (Brenda); sister Madalyn (Bruce) Johnson; sister Betty (Alton) Mallock; and nieces and nephews: Mark, Tracy, Jason, Chase, Geoffrey, Raina, and Haley.

Howard was predeceased by his parents and his sister Marion.

Memorial and Open House will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 2pm-5pm, at 8522 100 St. Grande Prairie.

We wish to thank Dr. Bartie and the staff of QEII 3 North.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation – 3 North (10409 98 St., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 2E8).

Helen: It couldn't be worse news. We just heard but a few of us would have come to the service. I hope Howard wasn't ill for too long ? We tried to see you as often as possible and always enjoyed every bit of our visit with you and Howard. I will miss my "sweetheart" cousin more now that he is gone. Our sincere sympathies to You, Tanya, Michael and their families. Love, Judy and Stan Eliuk "
