Obituary For Irene Alma Luckner Mueller

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandma, great-grandma and great great-grandma, Irene Alma Mueller on Wednesday September 20, 2017. Irene passed away in the Edmonton Continuing Care Centre, surrounded by her family and their love.

Irene has been reunited with her beloved husband of sixty-nine years Gerhard Paul Mueller in heaven.

Irene was born May 11, 1929 in Germany where she grew up playing outside. When she was a young lady, she worked at a factory where she met her soon to be husband Gerhard. They married in Germany and then immigrated to Canada in 1951 with their daughter Christel by their side. They settled in Smokey/Wanham, AB area where they farmed together and raised their five children.

Irene had a green thumb and enjoyed being in her garden and smelling her flowers. She loved watching the birds out her kitchen window as she tackled a crossword puzzle. Her family loved entering the kitchen after Irene had spent the morning baking fresh bread and cookies.

She shared her faith with the children that she taught Saturday mornings at the Seventh Day Adventist kindergarten program.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory daughters: Christel, Ingrid (Boyd) and Vera (Steve); sons: Lyndon and Milton (Lenore); along with her loving grandchildren: Delwyne, Le-Ann (Rob), David (Donna), Danny, Jacquie (Chris), Jolene, Kalcey, Nicole (Franky), Brad and Jenelle; great-grandchildren that adored her: Krystal, Colton, Cheyenne, Chase, Conner, Grace, Owen, Nolan, Natalia, Arianna, Rae-Anne and Noah; and last year she welcomed great great-grandchild Harper.

Irene was predeceased by her loving husband Gerhard, her mother Olga Luckner and son in-law Gordon.

A private Celebration of Life will be held for Irene at a later date with her family and closest friends.
