Obituary For Irene Pigeau Kriaski
Irene Kriaski, resident of Grande Prairie, Alberta, formerly of Lafond, AB, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the QEII Hospital at the age of 72 years.
Irene was born on August 31, 1943 in St. Paul, AB. She was raised in Lafond, AB and completed high school there. She was employed for a while at the St. Paul Hospital.
Irene just loved to sew and quilt, crochet, do some canning and bake; not only for herself but for the whole family and friends.
Irene was well known for entertaining and welcoming people in her home. She was always happy with visitors or friends dropping in.
Irene was a really hard worker, warm, compassionate and never complained no matter how she suffered or how tired she was.
Irene will be sadly missed by her loving husband Edmund Kriaski; daughter Joanne Kriaski, sister Lorraine Smith of Edmonton; four brothers: Laurent, Ernest, Victor Pigeau from Grande Prairie and Marcel Pigeau from Stony Plain and their spouses; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father Joe Pigeau and mother Lucienne Pigeau, brother Leo Pigeau; and her four daughters: Colleen, Carmen, Kelly and Kim.
The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 11:00am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grande Prairie (10404 102 St.). There will be a viewing prior to the service at 10:00am.
Memorial donations may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta (Unit 109 10126 120 Ave. Grande Prairie, AB T8V 8H8) or to STARS Air Ambulance (10911 123 St. Grande Prairie, AB T8V 7Z3).
