With great sadness we announce the passing of Isaac “Ike” Doerkson, on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at the Hythe Continuing Care Centre, at the age of 101 years.

He is survived by daughters, Constance Doerkson of Edmonton and Janet (Dave) Hegland of Wembley, daughter in-law Mina Doerkson of Gibbons, nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, brother Jake (Reta) Doerksen and sister in-law Florence Abney.

Ike was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Margaret “Peggy” in 1996; son Douglas in 2004; brothers: Pete, John, and Henry “Hank”; and sisters: Mary and Katherine.

The family would like to thank the Staff at the Hythe Continuing Care Centre for their excellent care. Dad really appreciated the care he received. Also, thank you to the Hegland family and Bob Wellwood for their visits and concerns.

At Ike’s request, there will be no Memorial Service. There will be an informal gathering at the Hegland farm by Wembley on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 2:00pm. Everyone is welcome.

Memorial Donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
