Obituary For James "Jim" Frank Sperle

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jim Sperle on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, in Grande Prairie, AB, at the age of 62 years.

Jim was born on April 17, 1962, in Unity, SK. Jim stayed in Unity to work for the family farm. At 19, Jim met the love of his life, Cathy. Very soon, they built a beautiful life and family, welcoming three children: Justin, Stefan, and Danica.

Jim eventually got out of farming and became a truck driver all over Saskatchewan & Alberta. He loved driving trucks, no matter what he put in 12–15-hour days 6-7 days a week. On the days he chose to take off, he enjoyed sitting in the sun with a cold beer and no shirt on. He enjoyed visiting his children, fishing, boating, riding horses, and being in the bush with his Jeep.

He will be missed by his children:

Justin James (Breanne) Sperle of Unity, SK with their family Harper, Chloe, and Avery Sperle; Stefan Michael Sperle of Lloydminster, SK; Danica Rose Sperle of Saskatoon, SK and ex-spouse Catherine (Rodger) Hurtig.

Parents: Joseph Sperle Freda Anastasia Fischer

SILENT STRONG DAD

He never looks for praises,

He's never one to boast,

He just goes on quietly working

For those he loves the most.

His dreams are seldom spoken,

His wants are very few,

And most of the time his worries

Will go unspoken too.

He's there.... A firm foundation

Through all our storms of life;

A sturdy hand to hold to

In times of stress and strife.

A true friend we can turn to

When times are good or bad.

One of our greatest blessings,

The man that we call Dad.
