Obituary For James "Jim" Stewart Borman
James “Jim” Stewart Borman, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at the age of 67 years old.
Jim was born on July 8, 1956, to Inge (Borman) Ihrig and Wolfgang Borman in Grande Prairie. Jim lived in Grande Prairie his whole life. He attended Grande Prairie Composite High School in 1974. Jim joined Proctor and Gamble at age 17 and worked at Weyerhaeuser for many years.
Jim married the love of his life Diane and became step-father to Jason and Joleen. Jim and Diane welcomed two children together Amber and Kyle. He was proud of all 4 of his children. He had 8 grandchildren he admired from afar.
Jim was competitive in all things he did. He was active in sports throughout school and when his children were little, he coached his son Kyle in hockey. He also played a lot of card games with family and friends. Some of the best memories were made around the kitchen table.
Jim is survived by his mother Inge (Borman) Ihrig; mother of his children Diane Borman; children: Jason Ludwig, Joleen Ludwig, Amber Borman, and Kyle (Kiera) Borman; as well as grandchildren: Kayla Ludwig, Jesse Ludwig, Kendra Borman, Jeremy Ludwig, Lexi Borman, Ryan Ludwig, Nate Ludwig, and Natalie Borman.
Jim was predeceased by his father Wolfgang Borman and stepdad Egon Ihrig.
A Memorial Service for Jim will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 2:30pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.). Luncheon to follow in Oliver’s Tea Room.
