James Peter Besuyen, resident of Beaverlodge, AB, passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021, at home at the age of 61 years.

James was born in Mayerthorpe, AB, on May 16, 1960, to Hank and Greta Besuyen. He was raised on a farm on Goose Lake, AB, with his sisters and went to school in Fort Assiniboine, AB. He moved to Beaverlodge where he married Donna Patterson the love of his life in 1981, and started a family together. Through the years Jimmy was a lot of things including a waterwell driller, farmer, truck driver, and a mechanic. He really was a jack-of-all-trades, if it was broken and could be fixed, he was your man.

Lots of people knew him for his wit and humor, even though he was a big rough and gruff looking man on the outside. He was a big teddy bear with a heart of gold that would do anything for his family and friends. Jim loved fishing, hunting, and most of all riding his Harley.

Jim will be sadly missed by his wife Donna Besuyen; his 4-legged girl Ronnie; children Courtney Besuyen and Robin Smith (Sandra); grandchildren: Randell Besuyen (Chad Houle), Rhownen Besuyen, Rhyiden Besuyen, Rexleye Besuyen, Jon Lennie (Kelli Cunningham), Brendan Lennie (Sieanna Piche), Matthew Smith, Cardel Smith, Jenna Smith, and Brayden Smith; great-grandchildren: Ruchleigh Besuyen, Rhenley Houle- Besuyen, Kassius Lennie, and Caleb Lennie-Giesler; his 5 sisters: Ena Besuyen (Phil Coward), Ella Moffat (Keith), Julie Nickel (Mike Burns), Carla Harrison (Ron), Christine Pearce (Lindsay); as well as numerous nieces nephews, cousins, family in the Netherlands, and friends.

Jim was predeceased by his parents Hank and Greta Besuyen, and great-granddaughter Eliana Lennie.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 1:00pm, at the Hythe Legion in Hythe, AB (9820 100 Ave.).
