Obituary For Jamie Kathleen Hrehoruk

It is with great sadness that we announce that Jamie Kathleen Hrehoruk, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at the age of 46 years.

Jamie was born on November 16, 1977, in Grande Prairie, AB. At the age of 9 years, Jamie and her family moved to Grande Cache, AB. She met Greg, the love of her life on New Year's of 1996, and they were married in 2002. Jamie and Greg raised their four amazing children in Grande Prairie and built a beautiful life together surrounded by dear family and friends.

Jamie was an immensely loving passionate, kind and talented lady. She had a great love of the outdoors. Her gardens, flower beds, and yard were always immaculate! Jamie had a keen eye for detail which made her adept at decorating and amazing lash tech.

Jamie will be dearly missed by her loving husband Greg Hrehoruk; children: Austin (Kourtney), Tyler, Natalia, and Darien; grandchild Ameleia Jamie Marie, who was born on July 23, 2024.

Jamie was predeceased by her grandparents: Jim Joan Anderson, Jan Harmina Olydam, and niece Haley Robideau.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Jamie’s honour on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Grande Prairie People’s Church (11850 108 St).

We send our sincere condolences to the Hrehoruk and Olydam families at this incredibly sad time. I fondly remember Jamie as a student in my grade 4 class and recall her bright smile, friendly personality with just a hint of mischief to add sparkle and fun. She was always surrounded by friends and it was a joy to get to spend time with her. The grade 4 field trip to Drumheller will be one of those "what was I thinking?" events in my teaching career, but to this day remains a highlight filled with special memories, many of those involving Jamie. It was a pleasure to watch her grow to become a beautiful, caring young lady and to hear how her life was filled was so much love. Rest peacefully.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Jamie's passing. We went to high school together. Although we didn't stay in touch over the years beyond Facebook friends. I knew Jamie as caring, fun loving and a great friend. It's not hard to see her as an amazing mom and grandma. I worked with Greg for a couple minutes in Grande Cache; I am so sorry for your loss. Keeping you, your children and grandchildren in prayer as you grieve. Craig Osborne
