We are sad to announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Jane Graham (Greer) Wiebe, a longtime resident of Grande Prairie. Mom passed away at the age of 94 on November 27, 2024, at the Prairie Lake care facility.

Jane was born on July 20, 1930, in Glasgow, Scotland. She came to Canada in April 1951 and lived in Ottawa. In September 1952, Jane moved to Vancouver and worked for BCTel until the Spring of 1957. Mom met Dad, John Wiebe, in 1953 and they married on February 24, 1956.

In August of 1960 Jane and John moved to Grande Prairie with their two young children and opened up Top Shoes. They enjoyed time at their cabin at Sturgeon Lake with family and friends for many years. And in retirement also enjoyed being Snowbirds and travelling.

Jane was predeceased by her husband John in October of 2021.

Mom will be sadly missed by her children Janis and Percy Britton, and Russell and Carol Wiebe. Grandma will be missed by her three grandsons Matthew and Courtney Britton, Keenan and Chelsea Wiebe, and Mitchell and Kelsey Britton. Great-grandma will always be remembered by Mackenzee, Casey, Bode, Karter, Camryn and Asher.

We would like to thank the wonderful nursing staff at Prairie Lake for all their years of taking such good care of Jane.

At the family’s request there will be no funeral.
