Obituary For Janice Lee Hein

Janice Hein resident of Clairmont, AB, formally of Grande Prairie, passed away Monday, October 28, 2024, in hospice care in Grande Prairie at the age of 59 years. She was calm, comfortable and loved.

Janice was born June 4, 1965, in Beaverlodge to Martin and Emily Hein. She was one of three girls in a family of five kids and grew up with her family in the Wembley/ Grande Prairie area.

She was always ready to smile, give big hugs and have a laugh, but was not about to take crap from anybody and wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. In June 1992, she married Andre and together they put many miles on the Harley. If she wasn’t in the garden with her siblings, she would be visiting with friends and family. Grandma Jan loved her grandkids fiercely and would spend time with them any chance she got. Her love language was always making sure to wish you happy birthday, any new baby in the family had a crocheted blanket, making homemade Play dough for the kids or grandma muffins for school lunches.

She will be sadly missed by husband Andre Dubord; daughter Kim (Serge) Lussier; stepchildren Jody (Michelle) Dubord, Vanessa (Mike) Schoen, and David Dubord; brother Doug Hein, sister Judy (Darcey) Adams, and Joanne (Glen) Blimkie; sister-in-law Marie Ann Dubord and Brother in law Louie Dubord; her many grandchildren: Tanisha, Brooke, Morgan, Kyla, Brody, Paige, Hanna, Emily, Isabel, and Adeline; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and whole lot of friends.

Janice was predeceased by her parents Martin and Emily Hein, brother Dave Hein, sisters-in-law Cathy (Young) Hein and Paula Hein.

A celebration of life will be held on June 7, 2025. Location and time to be announced. We will be spreading her ashes off the back of a Harley and sharing memories.

In Lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Grande Prairie Palliative Care Society (www.gpcare.ca) in her name.
