Jason Michael Fortin, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Wembley, AB, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, in Grande Prairie, at the age of 37 years.

Jason was born on May 10, 1984, in Edmonton, AB. He was the only boy, and he had five sisters. Jason went to school in Wembley up to Grade 3, then moved to Grande Prairie. He made it to Grade 10 and then started working with his step-dad.

His personality was that he was a very quiet man, but once he warmed up to you, he was your best friend.

Jason’s hobbies were being around his family, going ski-dooing and camping. He enjoyed being out in the garage building, fixing things, and playing games on the PlayStation. He was also a stay-at-home dad.

Jason will be sadly missed by his common-law wife Berlynn; children Darrin and Makayla; his mom Shirley and step-dad Gord; sisters Tracy (Dolan), Shawna Fortin, and Kelly; biological dad Mike (Josie) Fortin; as well as nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Jason was predeceased by his grandmother and sister Kim.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 14, 2022, at 2:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave).
