It is with great sadness that family of Jeannie Elizabeth Fredrickson announce her passing on Friday, April 12, 2019, surrounded by her family, in Grande Prairie, AB, at the age of 77 years.

Jean was born on December 19, 1941 in High Prairie, AB to Eugene and Marie Yandeau. She moved to Dawson Creek, BC with her mother and siblings at the age of five where she resided for many years. She met Edward and married in 1962. It was at this time that they started their beautiful family of four. Not long after, they moved to Cherry Point, AB where they homesteaded and pastored a church. In 1984, Jean and Ed moved to Rycroft, AB, planting a church and then making their move to Grande Prairie in 1993 where they resided until Jean’s passing.

Jean had a love for the Lord and her family. She was blessed with four children, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She had her grandchildren over as often as she could and could not have been a prouder grandmother and great-grandmother. Jean’s faith sustained her. She and her husband were actively involved in every aspect in her church and with her church family. It was not enough that she raised her own children, Jean mentored many in the church and community over the years.

Jean had many interests and hobbies. Over the years she planted many trees, helped in the fields and she had a passion for flowers and gardening. She always worked very hard to have beautiful gardens, which brought her great joy.

Jean will be forever missed by her husband Edward Fredrickson; children: Brenda, Steve (Ashley), Dawn, and Glenda (Sean); grandchildren: Ashlee (Lance), Celeste (Darcy), Britney (Jeff), Colten, Eden (Kevin), Carli, Aaron, Ellaira, and Skylar; great-grandchildren: Jaxon, Finley, and Brixton; sister Eileen; as well as nieces and nephews and friends.

Jean was predeceased by her parents Eugene and Marie, and siblings Dorothy and Tommy.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019, at 2:00pm, at The Oasis Fellowship in Grande Prairie (10126 101 Ave).

The family wishes to extend their utmost gratitude to the attending physicians, nurses, and support staff on 4North of the QEII Hospital along with Prairie Lakes Hospice for the care and support provided to Jean in the past two months.
