Obituary For Jean Jackson Gorrie
Evelyne Jean Gorrie, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at Prairie Lake Hospice in Grande Prairie, at the age of 87 years.
Jean was born June 7, 1932 in Grande Prairie and raised in the rural Clairmont, area. After finishing high school in Grande Prairie, Jean went to Edmonton to train as a Hairdresser. She worked as a hairdresser for 60 years. Jean was deeply committed to her loved ones, friends, and family.
She will be sadly missed by her children: Randy (Dorothy) Gorrie and Debra Lynn Gorrie (Clifford Cardinal); grandchildren: Jessie (Clayton) Doll, Sean (Karlee) Gorrie, and Shawna Rogerson (Glen Roberts); great-grandchildren: Dawn Rogerson, Alexzander Doll, Izabella Doll, Keefe Young, Levi Young, and Shelby Young; as well as sister Lillian Newnham.
Jean was predeceased by her parents Robert and Mildred Jackson, brothers Robert Jackson and Donald Jackson, sister Beverly Hutchison, brother in-law Dave Newnham, sister in-law Helen Zelling, and son in-law Doug Rogerson.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, November 8, 2019, at 2:00pm, at Forbes Presbyterian Church in Grande Prairie (9635 76 Ave.).
Memorial donations may be made to Grande Spirit Foundation (9505 102 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 7G9).
