Obituary For Jean Martha Winiewski Wald
Jean Wald, resident of Sexsmith, AB, formerly of Teepee Creek, passed away Friday, October 11, 2019 at Prairie Lake Hospice in Grande Prairie, at the age of 87 years.
Jean was born October 18, 1931 in Sexsmith, AB and was raised in Teepee Creek. She worked at Canfor and at County of Grande Prairie as a bus driver for 20 years.
She enjoyed horseback riding, farming, and gardening. She had a very strong Catholic faith and loved to be with her family.
Jean will be sadly missed by her husband of 65 years Ray; children: Elaine (Wayne), Brian, Garth (Linda), Rick (Rhonda); grandchildren: Jamie, Sherry, Dale, Angela, Dustin, Nicole, and Brittany; great-grandchildren: Tyler, Andrew, Theresa, Riley, Brooklynn, and Jonah.
She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Martha Winiewski; siblings: John, Helene, Joe, Ted, Victor, Rose, Agnes, and Leonard; grandson Josh; granddaughter Michelle; and great-grandson Gage.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 11:00am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sexsmith (9928 97 St.).
Cremation has taken place and private family interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grande Prairie Palliative Care Society (#204, 10134 97 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 7X6).
