Obituary For Jesse Tor Pederson
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our brother, uncle, and friend, Jesse Tor Pederson, in Grande Prairie at the age of 85 years.
Jesse was born in Sexsmith, AB, to Ole and Anne Pederson (nee Mogen), both originally from Numedal, Norway. Jesse spent most of his early life on the farm before moving to La Glace, AB, and later to Hythe and District Pioneer Lodge. He had a quick mind, great sense of humour, knew how to enjoy himself, and always showed how much he cared for his friends and family. Jesse was truly one of the nicest, most genuine people you would ever meet. All who knew him will miss him.
Jesse is survived by his sister Kristine Sandboe; brother Peter Pederson; as well as by many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.
He was predeceased by his parents Ole and Anne Pederson; infant twin siblings Olive and Peter; as well as sisters Linda Pederson and Ingrid Horneland.
The family would like to thank all the staff at the Hythe Pioneer Lodge, the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital, and the Prairie Lake Hospice for the support and care they gave to Jesse.
A Memorial Service will be held on, Friday, July 14, 2023, at 11:00am at the Calvary Lutheran Church in La Glace (101 Ave.).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the La Glace Agricultural Society (P.O. Box 185, La Glace, AB, T0H 2J0).

Jesse had a unique, infectious, laugh and was a regular visitor to many homes and especially to Olsen's Garage. My mother, Mayme Benterud, was very fond of Jesse and enjoyed having him over for lunch or coffee. He always looked forward to the La Glace parade where he joined "dignitaries" of our hamlet sitting on the Lead wagon. My sympathies to Jesse's family on his passing. It was a pleasure to have known Jesse! Raynold Benterud

Jesse was a one of a kind fellow. My grandma, Agnes used to cut his hair and he'd often visit when we were up visiting in LaGlace. He was a kind gentle soul who had a great sense of humour and was unofficially known as the "Mayor of LaGlace". The name of my recent furry addition 🐈 is named after Jesses dad who I also remember fondly from my younger years. My boys knew Jesse well as he'd often come to grannies when we were up. He us one unforgettable guy and will be missed. Thoughts are with Jesses family.
