Obituary For Jody Topilko

On Monday, December 14, 2015, our precious daughter Jody was tragically taken from us at the age of 30 years.

Jody was born in Slave Lake, AB, On May 3, 1985, where the family resided until moving to Grande Prairie, AB, in February of 1992.

She loved her children and family deeply. Throughout her life, her creativity, dramatic personality, and contagious smiles touched the hearts of many who knew her. She was compassionate, yet transparent. She knew what it was to be in a relationship with the Lord and to be outside of that as well. Her deep heart desires were to help the lost and hurting. Her life was not about being perfect, it was about being real and honest and sincere. It was all of this and so much more.

She is survived by her sons Chevy Kurek and Gatlin Lee; parents Ken and Marilyn Topilko; brother Jason Topilko and best friend Mike Lee (all of Grande Prairie) as well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances.

She was predeceased by her grandparents: Phillip and Anne Topilko of Edmonton, AB, Gerda Topilko of Edmonton, AB, Ted and Sonja Ignas of Bonnyville, AB, and Archie Scharf (Ardmore, AB).

A Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 7:00-9:00pm at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave).

A Celebration of Jody’s Life will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 2:00pm at The Oasis Fellowship in Grande Prairie (10126 101 Ave).

Memorial Donations may be made to a Trust Fund for Jody’s children at ATB Financial under the account named “Topilko” (6801 Kateri Drive, Grande Prairie, AB, T8W 0H1).
