Arron John Dreger, resident of Spirit River, AB, formerly of Woking, AB, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Central Peace Health Complex, at the age of 87 years.

Arron was born on December 16, 1936, in Woking to Wilhem and Emilie Dreger where he grew up the youngest of 7. He attended school in Woking and helped with the farm until he moved North to Wonowon, BC where he worked as a mechanic in his shop with his sister Hatti and her husband Dave. He was also active in the rodeo circuit as a young man, where he raced chariots and chuckwagons for many years before slowing down to farm with his wife, Olga.

Arron was always outgoing and social. He loved to be surrounded by family and friends and was always up for a good card game and visit. He loved being out on the farm where he worked in his shop, gardened, and spent time with his family, friends and animals. He always liked to keep busy and worked on the farm until he and Olga were no longer able to.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Olga Dreger; children: Loraine (John) Campbell, Marvin Boychuk, and Elaine Evans; grandchildren: Jesse (Micheal) Lofstrom, Curtis (Danelle) Boychuk, Trevor Boychuk, Tricia (Jason) Greening, Amanda (Kyle) Bruce, Tamara (Kevin) Scanlon, Candice Evans, Dustin Evans, Regan Boychuk, and Landon Boychuk; great-grandchildren: Noah and Mason Lofstrom, Brayden, Levi, and Kolby Boychuk, Victoria and Ella Bruce, Oakley Boychuk, Hunter Greening, Rebecca (Aaron) Neufeld, Keara and Jaden Pointer, and Saddie, Emmy and Stokely Boychuk; great great-grandchild Atticus Neufeld; brother Lloyd Dreger; sisters: Esther Vandergaag, and Adoline Glen; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Arron was predeceased by his brother Gus Dreger, sisters Hilda Dika and Hattie Close, sons Gary Boychuk, and Calvin Boychuk, and grandson Brodie Boychuk.

A small, memorial service with family was held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Oliver’s Funeral Home. Interment followed at Greenway Cemetery in Rycroft, AB.
