Obituary For John Leo Boivin

With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our much-loved father, grandfather, and brother. John Leo Boivin, passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at the Hythe Continuing Care Centre, at the age of 75 years.

John was born to Morris and Cecil Boivin, in Tangent, AB, on February 22, 1948. Born into a large family, he was one of sixteen siblings. John enjoyed visiting with friends for coffee, doing carpentry, and he loved spending quality time with his grandchildren.

John is survived by his loving children: Dean (Jackie), Darryl, and Deanna (Richard) Garant; grandchildren: Summer, Blair, Ocean, Tyler, Brook, Justin, and Julien; great-granddaughter Airabella; as well as other family and friends.

John was a loving father, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life for John will be held on a late date.

In lieu of flowers, family and friends may donate to the Alberta Diabetes Foundation (1-020 Li Ka Shing Centre for Health Research Innovation, University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB, T6G 2E1), or a charity of one’s choice.

    Our deepest condolences to Dean, Deanna, Darryl and your families. I have many memories of uncle one is he would make me laugh, easy to talk too and he was always kind. On behalf of Antoinette and the Elzinga family will miss him.
