Josie Wasowicz, resident of Spirit River, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017, in Central Peace Health Complex Long Term Care, at the age of 88 years.

Josie was born May 16, 1929 in Prince Albert, SK. She moved to Whitburn, AB at a year old. She went to Ksituan School. She also travelled to Montreal on a few occasions and had a love for farming and gardening. Josie was a kind, loving, and a very hard-working person.

She will be sadly missed by her children: Charles Wasowicz, Marjorie Hansen, Frank Wasowicz, and Valorie Rodts; grandchildren: Melody Nelson, Shawn Hansen, Dexter Rodts, Katherine Wasowicz, and Elizabeth Wasowicz; great-grandchildren: Isaac Rodts, Oliver Rodts, Tanya Nelson, and Vanessa Nelson.

She was predeceased by her parents Mary and Casper Drzewicki; husband Frank Wasowicz; infant daughter Antonia; brother Casper Drzewicki; brothers in-law: Charles and Casper Wasowicz; and sister in-law Helen Wasowicz.

A Viewing will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 4:00-8:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at 1:00pm, at Grace Gospel Chapel in Spirit River (5115 46 Ave.).
