Obituary For Josephine Mary Stanich Thompson

Josephine Thompson, resident of Grande Prairie, formerly of Rycroft, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at the QEII Hospital, at the age of 80 years.

She will be sadly missed by her husband Earnest, children: Kathy (Aris), Penny (Grant), Beth (Abe), David (Kim), Judy, and Peggy (Craig); 23 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and her 3 surviving siblings.

Josephine was predeceased by her parents, 6 siblings, and numerous extended family.

Prayers will be held Friday, July 28, 2017 at 7:30pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at 11:00am, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Rycroft.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Our many thoughts and prayers go out to all the family of Josie. This is a very sad time and we will always remember the wonderful visits (mostly at Auntie Barbara's) we had with Ernest and Josie and sometimes their family. She was an amazing lady and will miss her smile and sense of humor. Rest in peace Josie and many joyous times you now have to spend with your Lord and those who have gone before you. Always will be remembered.

My deepest condolences to the Thompson and Stanich families for their great loss. I got to know Josie quite well when they resided in Wildrose Manor in Grande Prairie as my mother also resided there.
