Obituary For Judy Ann Olson

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our Mother, Grandma, Sister, Auntie, and friend. Judy Ann Olson, resident of Beaverlodge, AB, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the age of 70 years.

Judy was born September 22, 1954, to Ray and Mary Riendeau, in Kerrobert, SK. She was the second oldest of six children. At the age of eight, her family moved from Outlook, SK, to Grande Prairie, AB. She lived in Grande Prairie until she met the love of her life, Rick. They moved to Dawson Creek, BC where their first daughter was born. They then moved to start farming outside of Beaverlodge, AB where their two sons were born.

When living on the farm, Judy volunteered on countless committees and boards, baked and knitted for the Farmers Market, and started her own bookkeeping business "Olson's Office Management". In 2009, they sold the farm and moved into Beaverlodge where she lived until her passing.

The most important thing to Judy was family. She was kind, always put others before herself, and was a mom to everyone (bookkeeping clients included). She loved playing games on her iPad, quilting, golfing, playing cards, gambling at any casino, baking, gardening and Magnum ice cream bars or anything dessert-related. She loved socializing with a glass of wine, among family and friends. Judy loved all 4-legged animals, especially her dog, Roxie

She will be sadly missed by her daughter Carrie (Dean) Thomson and grandchildren: Brody Thomson, Drue Thomson, and Reese Thomson; son Clint (Danielle) Olson and grandchildren: Keira Olson and Kendra Olson; son Garret Olson and granddaughter Seraya Olson; siblings Gary (Janet) Riendeau, Alberta (Sharon) Riendeau, Greg Riendeau, Karen (Lance) Hommy, and Tom (Cindy) Riendeau; and sister-in-law Vicky (Richard Watchman); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Judy was predeceased by her husband Rick Olson, parents Ray and Mary Riendeau, in-laws Iver and Nora Olson, and sisters-in-law Judy Delain and Pati Olson.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, November 24, 2024, at 2:00 pm, at the Beaverlodge Community Centre (1014 4 Ave.).

A Private Graveside Service will be held at Halcourt Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Paizleyā€™s Purses and Bentleyā€™s Backpacks Foundation (https://p2b2foundation.ca/ ).
