Obituary For Judy Lorraine Fowler Farnsworth
Judy Lorraine Farnsworth resident of Grande Prairie, AB formerly of Hythe, AB passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 in Grande Prairie, AB at 10:10 am. She was an incredibly young 68 years of age.
Judy was born at Hannah’s Maternity Home in Sexsmith, AB and raised in Beaverlodge, AB. She spent most of her life in the Grande Prairie area. She met Murray Farnsworth and they were married June 18, 1971. They moved to Wembley, AB to raise their 3 children on the farm. Judy loved children and she ran the kindergarten program in Wembley for many years before she shifted to work and manage daycare programs in both Hythe and Beaverlodge. During this time while working, raising her kids and being a wife, she was able to attain her degree in early childhood development. This was a huge accomplishment that she was extremely proud of achieving.
After she beat breast cancer, she took on the job of being a private nanny for many families. This position gave her the opportunity to travel to many great places and meet many interesting people. The most significant was that she was at the twin towers in New York one week before 911. Another opportunity that presented Judy with access to several interesting people and places was when she was a caretaker at a RV park in New Mexico. She genuinely enjoyed her time their made some very wonderful lifetime friends. She also appreciated the beautiful weather there, seeing as she was from northern Alberta. Judy also had a large love for small animals which led her to pet sitting. She appreciated that pet sitting allowed her to enjoy her hobbies. Judy loved to travel, whether it was in Canada, other countries, or on cruises. Her most favourite place was Loreto, Mexico with the people and lifestyle that truly matched with her heart.
Judy’s favourite past times were reading, painting, knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed making baby outfits, toques and mitts to be donated to either the hospital or the local shelter for the homeless. Judy loved the outdoors and would spend hours in her flower garden enjoying the fresh air and sunshine. She spent many years volunteering with the Royal Purple and doing lots of community work. Her favourite sayings were “It is what is” and “This too shall pass”.
Judy’s last day was a beautiful summer day with lots of sunshine, flowers and a gentle breeze on her face. She was surrounded with people who loved her both in physical and spiritual forms. She was adored by many and will leave a large hole in this world.
She will be sadly missed by her sisters Heather and Susan Fowler; brother Allan Fowler; children: Jodee (Dale) Hawley, Darwin Farnsworth, and Ryan (Paige) Farnsworth; grandchildren: Kaylee Farnsworth (Max Boesch), Emma Hawley (Tyler Robertson), Ryder, Tye and Kashton Farnsworth; great-grandson Daxton Robertson and a world full of family and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents Cecil Willard and Grace Mary Fowler, sister Donna Marie Fowler, and nephew Derrick Allan Draga.
Judy will be cremated and laid to rest in the Beaverlodge cemetery on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 2:00pm.

Dear Alan, and family, Through community volunteering, daycare, Early Childhood Education and Health Services, I have known Judy for many years. She was a gentle, kind, and quietly supportive person, with a great smile and sense of humour, who seemed to be able to adapt to help everyone. I was sad to see she had passed away, and offer you my sincere sympathy. The peace makers of this world are rare. The healers also. Judy will be sorely missed here, though I know there is a huge family group welcoming her on the other side. Kathleen Julien (Nychka)
