Judy Van Dresar passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at the age of 58 years, after a long and courageous battle with ALS.
Judy was born to Peter and Elsie Thiesson on November 29, 1958. She was born in Hythe and raised in Goodfare and later Beaverlodge. Judy called Grande Prairie home for most of her life.
Judy had a zest for life and loved walking, being outdoors and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Judy will be remembered for her amazing personality which always left an impression on everyone she met. She fought bravely and unrelenting to the end.
Judy will be missed by her mother Elsie Thiesson; husband Dale Van Dresar; children: Shaun Van Dresar (Kyla Van Dresar) and Mandy Van Dresar (Nick Ingraham); grandchildren: Maiya Van Dresar, Sophie Van Dresar, and Jackson Van Dresar; brother Gary Thiesson (Barb Carle Thiesson); sister Janice Willsey (Jim Willsey); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father Peter Thiesson.
Judy’s family and friends are invited to join together for a Celebration of Life on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at 1:00pm, at Faith Lutheran Church in Grande Prairie (9614 108 Ave.).
