Obituary For Kathleen Elsender Britton

Kathleen Britton, resident of Beaverlodge, AB, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side on Monday, June 4, 2018, at the QEII Hospital in Grande Prairie, AB, at the age of 87 years.

Katie was born in Carbon, AB, and was raised in the Hinton Trail District. She later moved to Hayfield, AB where she and Alvin were married for 65 years.

Katie enjoyed gardening, Bingo, and many card games with her family and friends.

Together Katie and Alvin raised four children: Larry (Alice) Britton, Jinny Britton (Terry Fink), Cindy (Kelly) O’Connell, and Chris Britton. She had seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Katie is also survived by her 2 sisters Mary Kuchera and Rose Daniels.

She was predeceased by her parents James and Annie Elsender, as well as her husband Alvin; siblings: Margaret, Lucy, George, and Tom.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 8, 2018, at 11:00am, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie, AB (10005 107 Ave).

Memorial donations may be made to the Beaverlodge Hospital Foundation (Box 480, T0H 0C0, Beaverlodge, AB), or a charity of one’s choice.

Dear Larry , Jinny , Cindy , Chris and all of your spouses and children My heart goes out to each of you in your time of sorrow . Your Mom was a very special lady and she will be remembered fondly by everyone .Her sense of humor, her generosity and her love of life and family set a shining example for all of us . I personally will keep her in my heart forever. My childhood visits to your place are some of my happiest memories ...trips to the river ,horse back riding ,the dugout , the straw forts ,all of the fun and some of the trouble we got into ! l hope it helps to know how much your Mom meant to so many people my condolences to all of you . I was saddened to read of Katies' passing. She was a special lady, even though we had not maintained close connect over the years, she and Alvin were very special to my Mother, cousin Noreen. May God bless and keep you all during this sad time.

Elsender Alice

It was incredibly sad to hear of Aunt Kate's passing. My deepest sympathy and love go out to all of you at this extremely sad time. Aunt Kate was such a spunky & loving woman & I was truly blessed to have her in my life. I will forever remember & cherish every moment spent with her. She was one special lady & will be dearly missed. Although I am unable to make it to the memorial service please know that my thoughts & prayers are with you all. Love you with all my heart. xo
