Obituary For Kathleen Esther Krog
Kathleen E. Krog, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly Brandon, MB, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at the QEII Hospital, at the age of 92 years.
Kathleen “Kaye” Seddon was born on September 10, 1928, in Brandon, MB. Growing up, Kaye was athletic and artistic. She was a member of the Sherbert Choir and, at 20 years of age, was crowned Carnival Queen of Brandon.
Kaye married Al Krog on October 17, 1953, and transferred to Grande Prairie, AB in 1955 with North Star Oil. Kaye painted scenery for the Grande Prairie Little Theatre, was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and their singing group for 55 years with the GP Legion Branch #54. Kaye had a big heart. She was a volunteer extraordinaire! She was an active member in the Anglican church where she taught Sunday school. Kaye had an exceptional work ethic and was employed with Grande Prairie Co-op for 28 years. Kaye’s passion for gardening and flowers were evident in the beauty of her yard.
Kaye loved family and will be sadly missed by her three daughters: Joanne of Courtenay, BC, Kathy (Sherman) of Grande Prairie, AB, and Sandy (Mike) of Calgary, AB; grandchildren: Kurt (Deb), Kirby (Scott), Sara, Ryan and Pat (April); great-grandchildren: Kayden, Kinley, Breanna, Caleb, and Nathan, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years Hjalmer (Al) Krog, parents Thomas and Mary Seddon, in-laws Joe and Camilla Krog, sisters Molly (Ray) and Ida (Lorne), brother Tommy (Shirl), brother in-law John, and sister in-law Margaret.
A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, September 11, 2021, at 11:00am, at Grande Prairie Cemetery (84th Ave. & 112th St.), followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:30am, at Grande Prairie Royal Canadian Legion Branch #54 (9912-101 Ave). Luncheon to follow.
Memorial donations may be made to Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation (10409 98 St, Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 2E8).
