Obituary For Kathleen Morris

Kathleen Morris, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023, at the age of 66 years.

Kathy was born to James Aenos Kemp and Theresa Anna Kemp, on August 15, 1956, in Prince George, BC. She grew up and went to school there, making many friends along the way and formed lasting relationships.

She moved to Grande Prairie at 24 years old to continue raising her family and begin a new chapter. Kathy accomplished many things in her lifetime.

She was a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother in-law, niece, cousin, soulmate, volunteer, an umpire, business owner, the family cheerleader, and above all else, a supportive family member and friend, which were some of her proudest traits. She was available any time to help anyone.

Kathy lived her later life in Grande Prairie with her partner Larry, her kids, and grandkids. Nothing gave her more joy than spending time with all of them, camping or traveling with Larry, and watching her grandkids play sports or have sleepovers.

She also loved to put her feet in the ocean every chance she got, and loved the people she met along the way. The many memories made with all of us will be greatly cherished and missed.

Kathy is survived by her soulmate Larry; son Jamie and grandkids: Payton, Tanner, Kaedyn, Sydni, Walker, Brycten, and great-granddaughter Paisley; her daughter Tanya (Rob) and grandkids: Rylan, Ashley, and Chase; sister Judy Kemp; brother Richard Kemp; as well as Larry’s children: Mark (Lisa) and granddaughter Blake, Todd (Taylor), Kelsey (Donovan), and Whitney.

A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to Grande Prairie Palliative Care Society (#204, 10134 97 Ave., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 7X6).

    Tanya, Jamie and family, I am so very much in shock to read this today I did not know that our dear friend Kathy had passed. Kathy was an amazing lady, she was there for everyone. She had the biggest heart and cared so deeply and loved her family unconditionally. I can not express how deeply saddened I am for everyone she touched. Kathy will be so dearly missed by all.     Jamie, Tanya, Larry and families. Words seem so inadequate to express the sadness I feel for the loss of Kathy. She was not only a co-worker from her days at the City but a good friend to me. I will cherish my memories of our "girls night out"!!! She will be missed.😢 I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you.     Words cannot express my say for all Kathy's family. I loved her like a sister and will fondly cherish every memory I have of her. Especially at One island lake, building the cabin where she received the nick name "Compulsively Cleaning Kathy". My big regret is that I didn't get to say goodbye, She is with Fran now and I'm sure they are liking being together again. RIP my friend❤️😢😢
