Obituary For Kelly Stevens
Kelly Frank Stevens, resident of Teepee Creek, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 at Points West Hospice in Grande Prairie at the age of 50 years.
Kelly was born on September 13, 1966 in Golden, BC. Kelly had many fond memories of his life in both Winnipeg and the Peace area.
Kelly had a love for life and adventure. He enjoyed all activities that would keep him outdoors. Kelly was a straight shooter, and held strong affection for his whole family. If you were his friend, you were his friend for life.
Kelly was a passionate and hardworking heavy-duty mechanic, welder and air conditioning mechanic. There was nothing that Kelly would not try to fabricate and add modifications for, or try to fix. His job as a mechanic took him to places and adventures all throughout Alberta and British Columbia and he saw many beautiful places and took note of all the great fishing holes along the way.
He was an avid biker, camper, fisherman and shooter. Kelly stated that the people he met and put miles on the highway with while the thunder rolled, were not just his friends but his brothers.
Kelly loved all kinds of movies. He enjoyed a quiet evening at home unwinding to a good movie. Kelly, Cody, and Becka watched all the new movies as they came out at the Cineplex.
He will be sadly missed by his children Cody and Rebecka (Liam), and by the mother of his children and longtime friend Jo-Ella Stevens. He is also survived by his mother Shirley Stevens and father Gerry Stevens (Bonnie); oldest sister Selina Lupky (Dennis) and their children Brady and
Randi (Dorian); younger sister Shelley Stevens; his grandmother Margaret Benton; best friend and uncle Peter Witwhisky (Diane); three cousins: Amy (Brian) and their daughter Dallas, Susan (Pasquale) and Shawn (Monica).
He was predeceased by his grandfather William Kozack and his aunt Rose Frain.
The Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 2:00pm at Teepee Creek Hall. Interment will follow at the Teepee Creek Cemetery. We would be honored to have you ride your bike to the service and escort us to the cemetery as we lay our dad to rest.
Memorial donations may be made to the Grande Prairie Hospice Palliative Care Society (Box 21215 Grande Prairie, AB T8V 6W7) or Toys for Tots (c/o Grande Prairie Association, Box 23136 Grande Prairie, AB T8V 6X2).
