Obituary For Kenneth Peebles

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Kenneth Arthur Peebles, on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at the age of 84 years.

Ken was born on April 28, 1931 to Emma and Arthur Peebles in Grande Prairie. He spent his youth growing up and working the family farm in the Wanham area. Ken finished his schooling in 1949 and joined the Reserve Army. When he returned, he moved to Grande Prairie, where he met the woman who was to become his lifelong partner, Irene Anderson. They were married in 1955. Together they built a beautiful life for themselves and their children. Ken was a foreman with Northland Utilities. In 1963, he bought farmland in the Lake Saskatoon area and started farming again. Ken was active in the trucking business for many years. Ken was creative and loved playing various musical instruments. He had a quirky sense of humor that created much laughter. Ken was a great joy and will be dearly missed.

He is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Irene, and their three children: son, Gordon (Barbara), daughter, Audrey (Piotr), and son, Dale (Lorilee); his grandchildren: Brittney, Breanna (Chad) Frank, Daulton, Ryder, and Willow; and his great-grandchildren: Jacoby and Olive, his brother, Les (Marilyn); and sister in-law, June (Walter) Pakarnyk; as well as cousins and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends of the family.

Ken was predeceased by his parents: Arthur (1961), and Emma (1998).

At Ken’s request, a graveside service, with family only, will be held. If you knew Ken, please take a moment from your day to remember him and celebrate the good times you shared. We will miss him dearly and he will be forever in our hearts.

Ken always had a soft spot for animals. Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA (12220 104 Ave, Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 8A8), or to a charity of ones choice.
