Obituary For Kerry Lyle Weichenthal

Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, loved beyond words, missed beyond measure.

Kerry Weichenthal passed away at his home in Grande Prairie, AB, on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at the age of 44 years.

Kerry was born in Bancroft, ON on October 5, 1974 and was raised in Hardwood Lake, ON. He moved to Ottawa as a young man, and it was there that Kerry’s beloved sons, Aidan and Liam, were born. He later moved to Alberta as Pipeline work called out to him. It was here that he fell in love with his wife Christina, made a home, married and lived his final days.

Kerry will be remembered for his big heart, smiling face and love of family. He loved the outdoors, and made many memories with friends and family hunting, fishing, and riding dirt bikes and snowmobiles. Kerry was a man of many talents: an artist, a carpenter, salesman, a great cook, a driller, and all-around Mr. Fix It. He loved to joke and laugh and loved a good story.

Kerry is survived by his beautiful wife Christina Weichenthal; sons Aidan and Liam Weichenthal; loving father Delwin Weichenthal; and loving mother Dale Fleguel and her husband James. He also leaves behind his sister Jenny Smith, her husband Trevor, and nephews Colin and Rylan. Kerry will also remain in the hearts of his new loving family in Grande Prairie, AB. There he will be sadly missed by Christina’s children Carly and Braeden Given; mother in-law Mary Ann Little; sister in-law Jody Lefley, her husband Mike and their three children: Maddy, Cooper and Ryder. He will always be remembered with love by his godparents Bernie and Darlene Liedtke, and by his many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Kerry was predeceased by his father in-law Don Little; grandparents: Wallace and Meta Weichenthal and Roy and Dora Bruce; Uncle Dennis and Aunt Deanna Bruce; Aunty Marlene Behnke, and his cousins, Terri Liedtke and Leanne Behm.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, May 19, 2019, from 2:00-4:00pm at the Raglan Four Seasons Park on Four Seasons Park Road in Hardwood Lake, ON. Friends and family are welcome to stop by to reminisce and to offer condolences to his family. A short dedication to honour Kerry’s life will take place at 3:30pm.

Dearest Christina, After searching the world over, you found your smile again in Kerry. Your time together wasn't nearly as long as you anticipated when you first decided on forever. It brings solace to his family and friends, however, I would believe, to know that his final years were spent in love, laughing. Each time Kerry would come into our workplace to see you, his eyes would light up like he'd sighted a rare flower. He was smitten with you, absolutely entranced that you were a part of his life. He claimed you publicly with his words, his looks, his beaming smile, like he wanted to stand on the tallest building and tell the world, "See that girl? She's mine!" I used to tease you about how he'd watch other customers talking to you with their endearing admiration of all that is kind and good and loving in you and Kerry looked like he was a 4 year old boy holding back from telling the other kids that they were admiring HIS toy in the sandbox 😉 You make so many people laugh every day, feel so good about themselves every day. It was so nice to see someone make YOU that happy in return. I am thankful for your family being close to walk through this valley with you. I'm thankful, also, that you had the opportunity to meet Kerry's family in Ontario while he was still here with you. I am broken hearted that such a devastating loss is what is taking you home to them again 💔 Reach out for our hands anytime you need them, hon. We're hear to help your journey xoxoxo
