I am a past student of Mr. Elzinga's. He was a most passionate and gentle person. I have often thought of him over the past 25 plus years. My thoughts are with your family at this time. He had a substantial impact in the lives of many high school students at the most influential time in their lives.

I remember working with Klaas in his basement as we prepared election posters together for the 1971 provincial election.

I remain grateful to Klaas for all of his support in my early political activity and for a long lasting friendship around music and reading. He will remain a very special part of my life in Grande Prairie. His earnestness never failed. Campbell

Mrs. Elzinga & Andre: Sincere condolences in the passing of Mr. Elzinga. Of all my high school teachers I probably got to know him more than all my other teachers since he taught me French for all 3 years of my schooling at the Comp. For that reason he was likely the one that I enjoyed the most as well. Keep those fond memories close to the heart.

I met Klaas at the Composite High School when I started teaching there in 1978. He was a kind and gentle colleague who always had a friendly greeting and was always willing to talk and provide advice and encouragement at the end of a tough day. My condolences to all of you - I will always remember Klaas.
