Larry R. Olson of Grande Prairie, AB passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the age of 78 years, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born March 20, 1941 to parents Oscar and Alma Olson in Edberg, AB. At the age of 4, after the passing of his father, the family moved into Camrose. He married Gloria Whiting on May 21, 1960 and they were happily married for 58 years.
In 1972, he moved his family from Camrose to Grande Prairie and continued his career as a journeyman plumber, gasfitter, and steamfitter. He shared his passion and love for the outdoors with his family. Weekends and holidays would find them hunting, fishing, camping, and quading.

Larry is also survived by 3 sisters: Joyce, Lorna, and Marlene (Harvey); brother Russ (Diane); 2 sisters in-law Marya, and Lori (Roger); and brother in-law Bill (Marilyn).
He was predeceased by his parents Oscar and Alma and his brother Slim Olson.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at 2:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).
Memorial donations may be made to Larry’s favorite charity, the Salvation Army (9615 102 St., Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 2T8) or the charity of one’s choice.
The family would like to thank Dr. Richard Martin for his care over the past many years and the staff on 5 North for their kindness and compassion.

My deepest condolences to Dan, Patricia and the entire family for the loss of your Father. In a time where heroâ??s are all the rage in Hollywood we see how hard it is to lose the true heroâ??s in our lives. In this difficult time, remember to celebrate the gift that was afforded to you, which, for the rest of your natural lives will continue giving and giving. His legacy lives through you and a day shall not pass where you donâ??t feel blessed by what your father imparted unto you. We are praying for comfort that passes all understanding in this time of loss. God Bless you all.
