Obituary For Laura Norton Patterson

“Forever young”, Laura Patterson (Norton) passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017, at the age of 89 years.

Born in Bezanson, to a big family, Laura learned the value of family, always committed to her role. Laura was” Fun” and in her presence there was a sense of security.

A well-known and respected woman for the years dedicated to the food and beverage industry till her retirement. Laura developed lifelong friendships through curling, bowling, crafting, entertaining, and playing cards, which she excelled at. Then she tried to teach Ruby to drive…

In the latter years, time was spent travelling, and she continued to watch the sports and enjoy her family. In Jesse’s words “She lived too well to live any longer!”

Laura is survived by her son Ernie Patterson (Claudia) and daughter Donna Drummond (Wallace); son in-law Rodney Fredrickson; grandchildren: Michael, Deanna, Teresa, Jason, Keith, Kevin, Cédric, Jesse, Bretton and Alexandrea; many great-grandchildren; sisters: Grace Menard and Ruby Boyer; brother Edwin Norton; as well as many nieces, nephews and great pals Sis and Cathy.

She was predeceased by parents Jerome Norton and Lillie (Robideau); brothers: Earl, Clyde, Ralph, and Fred; sisters: Olive Stewart, Stella Kimble and Shirley Boyd; husband Ken Patterson; daughter Barbara Fredrickson; and longtime partner Louis Kovacs.

At Mom’s request, a family service and burial will held June 10th, at 1:00pm, at the Glen Leslie Church and Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke of Alberta (Unit 109, 10126 120 Ave. Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 8H9.

    We will miss this beautiful woman and all the warmth she brought to our family. She was a very loving stepmother to me and partner to my Dad. They each have their card partner back ❤❤ I hope to be up for the service.
