Obituary For Leanne Margaret Tanner

Leanne Margaret Tanner, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of High Prairie, AB, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at home, at the age of 58 years.

Leanne Tanner (nee Dumont) was born on February 8, 1966, in High Prairie, AB, to Fred and Margaret Dumont. She grew up in High Prairie, and then moved to Grande Prairie where she met her true love Stacy Tanner in 1990. They married on July 20, 1996, and they shared many happy years together.

Leanne lived and loved passionately. She loved her family, friends and especially animals.

Her life was taken too soon. She will be dearly missed by her husband, Stacy Tanner; sister Linda McDonald and family; brother Ricky Dumont and family; as well as many friends.

Leanne was predeceased by her parents, Margaret Dumont and Fred Dumont.

May the road rise to meet you,

May the wind always be at your back,

May the sun shine warm on your face,

The rain fall soft upon your fields,

And until we meet again,

May God hold you

In the hollow of His hand.

Memorial donations may be made to Bandaged Paws Animal Rescue Association (https://bandagedpaws.org/donate) or to Stacy Tanner to help alleviate expenses in this difficult time.

I am very saddened to hear of Leanne's passing. We were good friends and had worked together for Alberta Transportation, around the time she met Stacy. She was kind hearted, alot of fun to be with and had such sparkly eyes, a big beautiful smile and her laughter was contagious. Sincere condolences to her family and friends. May she rest peacefully.

Leanne was like a mother to me. She helped me thru some of the hardest times of my life. I am so thankful to have had her in my life and I will never forget her and the amazing times we spent together as I grew up and doing things as an adult together. I loved her personality and she always lit up the room when she entered. She had no problem telling me when I needed to smarten up and I loved listening to her advice. I admired her dedication to everything she loved and her capability to do so much all the time with a smile on her face. I am glad she is together with Grammy now, cuz I know she lost a big piece of herself when grandma passed. ❤️❤️ I love Leanne and Stacy and all her family that I met over the years and I feel blessed to have had Leanne and Stacy in my life.
