Obituary For Leslie Alexander Miles

Leslie Miles, resident of Grande Prairie, formerly of Fort Saskatchewan, AB, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019, at the QEII Hospital in Grande Prairie, at the age of 99 years.

Les was born February 3, 1920. He moved from Fort Saskatchewan with his family to Clairmont in 1929. He served in WWII in the Navy. He married Ella in January 1949. They farmed at the Four Mile Corner. Les moved to Pioneer Lodge in 2015.

Les enjoyed hockey, baseball, horseshoes, and music.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 70 years, Ella; children Pat Stuka, Barry (Kathy) Miles, Val (Brock) Sipe, Shane (Ina) Miles; sister Mae Vaasjo; 14 grandchildren; 14 ½ great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his granddaughter Shauna Lee Miles.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at 1:00pm, at Clairmont United Church.

    My deepest condolences to Ella and her family. Les was such a kind man with a genuine smile and great sense of humour. I will never forget the time I was repairing the TV for Les when I noticed a small stuffed dog on the shelf. Les didnâ??t miss a beat and was quick to assure me â??dont worry, he wonâ??t bite and if he does Iâ??ll put him in the kennelâ?? Les will be missed by many!
