Obituary For Lester Reber

Lester Donald Reber passed away Monday, May 23, 2016, at the QEII Hospital in Grande Prairie, at the age of 93 years.

Lester was born in Rosalind, AB on April 25, 1923.

Lester spent 3½ years in the army. Lester and Dorothy were married on May 13, 1948. They farmed at Eaglesham for 29 years before moving to Grande Prairie in 1977.

Lester is survived by his wife Dorothy of 68 years; his two daughters: Carol (Gordon) Nellis and Janet (Ken) St. Germain; grandchildren: Crystal, Mark, Darla, Scott and Derek; great-grandchildren: Logan, Caleb, Kayden, George, Quinn and Avi.

He was predeceased by his parents Jake and Tina Reber; 2 sisters: Doris and Irene, and 1 brother Hugh.

At Lester’s request, there will be no Funeral Service. Burial will take place in Grande Prairie Cemetery (84th Ave. and 112th St.).

    I am very sorry to hear of Lester's death. He was a kind and loving man who was a good friend to my parents (Morris and Edie Burroughs) for many years. The Friday night crib games and pie were so enjoyed that they would "pre-crib" if they couldn't meet on Friday!

    Our condolences to Dorothy and her family. I really enjoyed getting to know the two of you better after your move into the Wildrose Villas. I'll remember some of the times when Lester used to come down and walk the treadmill by my office. He was always such a gentleman. Our prayers are with you all at this time and in the days ahead.
