Obituary For Lori Lyn Nault

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness, that the family of Lori Nault would like to announce her sudden, and unexpected passing, in the early morning hours on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at the age of 62 years.

Lori was born July 8, 1961, in Winnipeg, MB, to Joe and Brenda Mann. She was the third of six children.

Lori was fun and full of life. At the age of 18 she gave birth to her first daughter Melissa, whom she raised alone before meeting Randy Nobess. Together they had a daughter in 1980, whom they made the difficult decision to give up for adoption, and in 1982 a son, Tyler. In 1996 and 1998 Lori became a grandmother to Melisssa’s children, Khylla and Caeden.

In 1998 Lori found her calling and enrolled in college to become a Health Care Aide. After graduating, she worked at St. Boniface General Hospital, where she later met her husband, Maurice Nault.

In 2001, Lori decided she would follow Maurice to Grande Prairie, AB. A short time later Melissa, her children, and Tyler followed. Together in one big house they all made Grande Prairie their home.

Maurice and Lori were married in 2002 and spent their years together making the best memories with their grandchildren.

Lori took great pride in her work at Mackenzie Place as a Health Care Aide, and eventually moved to the staffing office where a stroke would cause her to retire early.

In 2007 and 2010, Lori became a grandmother again to Tyler and Ami’s two sons, and a few years later great-grandmother to Khylla’s three girls, and Caeden’s son.

The year 2018 held excitement for Lori, as she connected with the daughter she had given up for adoption and spent the last five years building a cherished relationship with Leanne and her three children.

Lori’s life was full, and she loved and cherished each, and every friendship she made. She would often be found travelling back and forth from Grande Prairie to Winnipeg, keeping in touch with family, doing coffee or lunch dates with friends, or on a shopping trip spoiling her family, whom she loved fiercely.

In May 2021, Lori suddenly lost Maurice, and became a widow. Life was hard, and it took her time to adjust, and then later that year she suffered the heartbreaking loss of her son, Tyler. Her heart was broken.

We seek comfort in knowing her heart and soul are at peace now. Lori will be sadly missed, and lovingly remembered by her daughters Melissa Mann (Nolan), and Leanne Hemauer; daughter-in-law Ami Anderson (widow of Tyler); brothers-in-law: Allan Gray, as well as Bob, John, Denis, and Gil Nault; sister-in-law Lise Nault; grandchildren: Khylla (Travis) Mann, Caeden Mann, Brayden and Daylan Nobess, Kaedyn and Ky Brandt, and Rorie Heamauer; great-grandchildren: GiGi’s princesses Matayah, Embrey, and Harlyn Mann; and great-grandson Bennett Penner; twin brother Larry (Diane) Mann; sisters Tracey (Lino) Mann, Connie (Scot) Stewart; as well as nieces and nephews.

Lori was predeceased by her son Tyler Nobess, husband Maurice Nault, sister Michele Rogowski, brother Don Mann, grandmother Pearl O’Grodnik, parents Joe and Brenda Mann, and mother-in-law Anne Marie Gray.

A celebration of Lori’s life will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 2:00pm at Oliver’s Funeral Home (10005 107 Ave.) for anyone who would like to stop by and remember what a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, and friend she was.

Love you forever Grandma XOXO.

Oh Lori, we had so many memories. It started over 50 years ago, and when we reconnected, like yesterday, and just so many fun memories. We were best friends in school, reconnecting and talking about life, shocked by our similarities in our lives, including dates and names of our sons, wedding year, etc. It was always like no time had passed. Your heart was always gentle and full of love. Thank you for the memories, you are resting with God and your family now. See you on the other side. Much love to your family. Cyndee Pich (Smedvik)
