Obituary For Lorraine Waltz

Lorraine Waltz, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018, at the QEII Hospital, Grande Prairie, AB, at the age of 77 years.

Lorraine was born June 29, 1940 at the Pouce Coupe Community Hospital in Pouce Coupe, BC, and she was raised in the area. She later lived in Dawson Creek, Hudson Hope, and Fort St. John, BC, before moving to Sexsmith, AB. Many years later, Lorraine chose Grande Prairie, AB as her home. She babysat for years and worked in housekeeping and laundry at a Motel in Grande Prairie, AB.

Lorraine loved gardening and canning her fresh fruits and vegetables, baking, and cooking. She loved watching “The Bachelor”, “The Bachelorette”, “The Little Couple” and cooking shows.

She will be greatly missed by her children: Rodney, Cheryl (Doug), Darryl (Barb), Corrie, and Tracy; grandchildren: Daelan (Danielle), Brenen (Carolyn), Marlen (Anita), Tairyne (Emma), Nemie, and Riley; great-grandchildren: Hadley, Taylen, Layken, Kaislyn, Silas, Adalynn, and Zandyn; sister Wilma Hansen; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

She was predeceased by her mother Ada Hansen and brothers Glen and Ross Foster.

Thank you to the QEII Hospital, Doctors, Nurses, and Staff in these last few months spent with our mother. Special thanks to Carolyn Kusyk, nurse and family member, for all her love and support.
