Obituary For Lucille "Lou" Beatrice Jacob
Lucille Jacob, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Eaglesham and Donnelly, AB, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at the age of 82 years.
Lou was born September 21, 1941, in Lac Megantic (Frontenac) Quebec. The family moved to Donnelly, AB, June 1, 1943, where she was raised and attended school, completing grade six.
Lou worked as a cook at the Eaglesham Hotel, the Wayfare/Gulf station, the Men’s Hostel, several oil rig camps, and the Youth Assessment Centre.
Lou loved to cook for anyone. She was always friendly and happy-go-lucky. She loved cooking, gardening, and sewing.
Lou will be sadly missed by children Raymond (Linda) Jacob, and Norman (Nicky) Jacob; grandchildren: Ryan Jacob, Chelsea (Glenn) Giesbrecht, Jarrett Jacob (Geoff), Cole (Britney) Jacob, and Nolan Jacob; great-grandchildren: Rylan, Lincoln, Cruz, Jaxon, Stella and Beau; as well as many extended family and friends.
Lou was predeceased by her parents Albert and Irene Guerin; newborn twin sisters Monique and Gisselle Guerin; nephews: Jamie Guerin, Paul Gillie, John Gillie, and Ryan Guerin; brothers: Jules Guerin, Remé Guerin, Donald Guerin, Guy Guerin, and Marcel Guerin; sister Rejeanne (Guerin) Bessette; former parents-in-law Prima and Ida Jacob; ex-husband Noel Jacob; common-law partner Ron Gullion; brother’s-in-law: Lucienne Boissonneault, Dave Stranaghan, Morris Potvin, Phil Gillie, Marcel Jacob, and Paul Jacob; sister-in-law Irene (Jacob) Gillie; and great-nephew Ian Potvin.
A Service will be held at a later date in Grande Prairie, AB.
Memorial donations may be made to The Grande Spirit Foundation (9505 102 Ave. Grande Prairie, AB T8V 7G9), or invite someone out for coffee in remembrance of Lou.

Lou was a fantastic person and cook. I had the prillevage to work with her at WayFare Restaurant & Young Offender Center. Sorry, to hear of her passing. She will be missed by many.
