Obituary For Lucille Lynn Starr

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Lucille Starr, resident of Grande Prairie, AB, formerly of Peerless Lake, AB. She passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, at the age of 49 years.

Lucille was born in Spirit River, AB, on August 29, 1974. She was raised by her grandma Annie Starr. Her family made their move to Grande Prairie where Lucille grew up and eventually settled. Her educational years were at Hillside Community School, then to Crystal Park School, and eventually to GPCHS. It was in the years 1991-1992 she met Jason Gauthier. Their union together was solid, and on August 13, 2014, they got married, and from that union they became parents of two boys.

They became grandparents to Raymond Starr and granddaughter Gemma Starr. Lucille’s health became an issue within the last few years. She was in and out of the hospital regularly, but despite her medical issues, she never let that stop her from loving her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunties, and uncles.

She will be missed profoundly by all who knew her, but now she is resting safely in the arms of her loving saviour Jesus Christ, Amen.

Lucille will be sadly missed by her husband Jason; and her two sons Clifford (Alyssa) and Kevin; kukom mom Annie; and mother Helen.

Lucille was predeceased by her grandfather David Edward Starr whom she loved so much.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 1:00pm, at Peerless Lake Hall, in Peerless Lake. Luncheon to follow. Interment to follow at Peerless Lake Cemetery.

Sending my condolences to Jason, Clifford & Kevin. I remember the first time I met Lucille. We were just kids at hillside school and immediately became friends. I was honoured when she asked me to be one of her bridesmaids. I will truly miss her and I get to hold our memories in my heart. Go rest high on that mountain. You were a good hearted lady and will be sadly missed but never forgotten. Hugs Jason Clifford & Kevin. I'm so very sorry for your loss. Rebecca Beaulieu

I knew Lucille for years as she was a patient of mine. She was very nervous at first but soon became comfortable and talkative. Lucille was funny and always a joy to have in our office. I am truly saddened to hear of her passing. I offer my condolences to her family. She is missed.
