Obituary For Lucy Sacrey Warrick

Lucy Warrick of Grande Prairie, formerly of Pacquet, NL, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 4, 2016, surrounded by her loved ones.

Lucy was born in Pacquet, NL to William and Mary Sacrey on September 15, 1930. Lucy caught the eye of her soul mate Raymond Warrick Sr. from Fogo Island when he came to Pacquet to fish. They married February 4, 1948 in Fogo, but settled in Pacquet and had 6 beautiful children.

Mom’s greatest enjoyment, aside from her family and her faith, was her love for the outdoors. She loved to be outside working on her flower beds. She also spent many hours sewing and knitting many miles of stitches in her other passion of quilting and knitting.

She leaves to mourn her daughters: Jessie Regular, Joslin Wilkins, and Jackie (Bryce) Heath; sons John (Bonnie) Warrick, Raymond Jr. (Eula) Warrick, and Tony (Jenny) Warrick; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren (and one on the way); her brothers and sisters, as well as many more family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents William and Mary Sacrey, her husband Raymond Warrick, her infant brothers Willy and Derek; brothers Gus and Gilbert; and sons in-law Horwood Wilkins and James Regular.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016, at 1:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).

Joslin, Leagh & I are deeply saddened to hear of your Mom's passing. It takes a special person to be a good mom, but it takes an even more special person to be the mom of a great child. You are proof of your mother's great character. Watching you day after day, spend countless hours being there with her, holding her up as so walked through the last years of her life. She didn't walk alone. We love you Joslin and pray for God's peace to overwhelm you during this very difficult time. Love Leagh, Pauline, Aaron & Parker Doell

Lisa, Laurie, and Leeann are sending much love and prayers to Jessie, Joslin, Jackie, John, Raymond and Tony. Hearing of Aunt Lucy's passing hit hard as we could just imagine being in your shoes. The heaviness and sorrow of losing a loving family member is almost too much to bear. But they would be telling us to "Live on" - to experience and enjoy life to it's fullest. Make the best use of every second of our lives. And so, we will - while we cherish the beautiful memories we have of them. Remember them often, laugh and cry. We remember aunt Lucy from our Summer retreats to Pacquet for a short stay (bcuz Dad couldn't stay very long away from home! lol). Aunt Lucy spent most of the time in the kitchen - cooking up her amazing scoffs! Also, we loved to be able to go to "the store" - that was a very special treat! 🙂 All of the memories of Aunt Lucy are pictured with her smiling, or giggling! She was a joy to be around! We pray that you as her family will feel the Peace of God - it passes all understanding - how we can feel peace at such a time as this - is only through God's presence. Take Care! God Bless! Lisa, Laurie and Leeann

To Jessie,Joslin,Jackie,John,Raymond and Tony. Feeling so sad today knowing that we cannot be there at this difficult time. Your Mom, Aunt Lucy, was very special to us. She was like a second Mom to us growing up in Pacquet. I will never forget her gentle spirit and beautiful smile. She always treated us like one of her own children. Many times when I would visit her after she moved to Alberta we would talk about the times growing up in Pacquet. We shared this story for a laugh many times. John and I decided to take our Moms for the first time on a skidoo ride on the frozen harbour. We were all set to go but unfortunatly Aunt Lucy slipped on a piece of ice, fell and broke her arm. She would tell me, "that was it, I never got to go for a ride after". Then she would give a big giggle. Aunt Lucy will be greatly missed. Take comfort in the fact that she is in a better place today with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, whom she loved and served. We are prayin that the peace of God will cover you all today and the days ahead. Howard, Sharon, Una and Gord Pacquet, Newfoundland
