Lyla Karen Hambler, resident of Kelly Lake, BC, formerly of Horse Lake First Nation, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the age of 51 years.

Lyla was born on August 2, 1972, in Dawson Creek, BC, to parents Alvina Napoleon (nee Hambler) and Kenneth Napoleon. She lived in Dawson Creek with her former partner Bob Lovgren, where they raised their children, Christina and Louie.

Lyla loved the simple things in life; a good crossword or word search, puzzles and especially her dogs, who were like her kids. She found joy in playing scratch tickets, bingo with friends and a cold Lucky.

Lyla will be sadly missed by her loving partner Robert Depatie, and her children Christina and Louie.

Lyla was predeceased by her mother Alvina Napoleon, and brother Evrette Napoleon.

A Wake will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, at 6:00 PM at the Horse Lake First Nation Arena.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 2:00 PM at St. Edmunds Catholic Church in Hythe (6004 – 48 Street).
