Obituary For Margaret Louise Carty McNeil

Louise McNeil, longtime resident of Beaverlodge, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the QEII Hospital on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at the age of 81 years.

Louise was born December 2, 1936 in Unity, SK to parents George and Edith Carty. At 2 weeks of age, the family moved to Beaverlodge.

In 1954, she married Ralph McNeil. They raised 4 children on the Rio Grande Farm. In 1995, Ralph and Louise moved to Beaverlodge.

Louise loved family, golfing, gardening, antique auctions, and artwork. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly.

She leaves to mourn her children: Ken (Lynn), Calvin (Rose), Tammy (Mike) Okonski, and Donnie (Cindy); 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and sisters: Dorothy Watson, Marian (Eddy) Brown, Cindy (Larry) Malekoff, and Lillian (Lyle) Lossing.

Louise was predeceased by her husband Ralph; parents George and Edith Carty; brother in-law Norman Watson; and sisters Gina Sandboe and Pat Carty.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at 2:00pm, at Beaverlodge Alliance Church (409 10 St.). Interment to follow at Beaverlodge Cemetery (RRd 2).

Memorial donations may be made to West County Health Facility Fund ( Box 30, Beaverlodge, AB, T0H 0C0) or to a charity of one’s choice.

Tammy, Mike and family. Louise was such an outgoing friendly person when she worked at APL and ATCO. She was a very caring person and liked by many who knew her. Sorry for your loss. My condolences. I would have attended the funeral, however, I was away at the time.
