Obituary For Margaret "Marg" Annie Esau

Margaret “Marg” Annie Esau, resident of Sexsmith, AB, formerly of Chilliwack, BC, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021, at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, at the age of 72 years.

Margaret was born on August 31, 1949, in Abbotsford General Hospital to Aaron and Annie Thiessen. She was the youngest of eight children and grew up on a 20-acre farm on Huntington Road. Her education began at South Poplar Elementary School and she graduated from Mennonite Education Institute in 1968. After graduating from Mennonite Brethren Bible Institute she married Bill Esau of Chilliwack. Shortly after, they moved to Terrace, BC, where they raised three girls. They moved back to Chilliwack in 1979.

Marg was always very cheerful, easy to talk to, ready with a quick smile, had a wonderful laugh, and always gave a warm hug. Marg loved to sing and was involved in numerous choirs, and ensembles throughout the years. She also loved planting vivid colors in her flower garden and drew many compliments of their beauty.

Marg will be sadly missed by her husband Bill Esau; children: Rachel (Joel), Kristin (Mark), and Audrey (Dallas); grandchildren: Skyla (Paul), Sarah (Scott), Grace (Joseph), Paige, Billy, Maddison, Ethan, and Ryker; as well as great-grandchildren Violet and Renna.

Marg was predeceased by her parents Aaron and Annie Thiessen and brothers: Barney, John, Henry, and Jake.

A Viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at 6:00pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107 Ave.).

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at 1:00pm, at Grace Bible Fellowship in Sexsmith (9515 93 St.).

Memorial Donations may be made to Wycliff Bible Translators (4316 10 St., NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 6K3), or to Mission Aviation Fellowship (102-195 Hanlon Creek Blvd, Guelph, ON, N1C 0A1).

    Dear Bill and family. I was very saddened to hear of Margie's home going .absent from the body present with the Lord. She is singing with John and Rudy . I have fond memories of her when we sang with the Ambassadors. May you feel God's presence now and in the days to come . My thoughts and prayers are with you all . Kay Voth
