Margery Jeanne Thompson, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in the Valleyview Hospital on the morning of Friday, August 11, 2017, at the age of 81 years.

Jeanne was born near Cadillac, SK, on November 7, 1935. She met and married Kenneth George Thompson in 1953, and together they had five children. The family settled in Valleyview in the early 1960’s, and has continued to live in the area ever since.

She was known to many as “Jeannie”, “Gma”, “The Doughboy Lady” or just “Mom”. Jeanne was well known as a dedicated volunteer to many worthwhile causes. One could find her selling daffodils for cancer awareness, knitting dish clothes to raise funds for the hospital gift shop, wrapping Christmas presents for the seniors lodge and turning out doughboys at the rodeo.

Jeanne was predeceased by her husband Ken in 2015.

Jeanne will be dearly missed by her five children: Bob (Laura), Bonnie (Keith), Doug (Wendy), David, and William; grandchildren: Barb, Tony, Christy, Leah, Courtney, and Darian; numerous great-grandchildren; as well as other family and friends.

The family would like to thank the entire Staff of the Valleyview Hospital: Dr. Schweggman, Dr. Verburg and all the nurses. You all became like grandchildren to our mom during her time there.

The family would also like to thank the many friends who have shown their support with flowers, cards and visits to the house.

A Funeral Service was held on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 11:00am at the Valleyview Memorial Hall, followed by a luncheon. Interment to follow at a later date.
