Obituary For Marion Faye Tiller Weiss
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our wonderful Mother, Mother in-law, Grandma, Great Grandmother and friend Faye Weiss (formally Parsons) nee Tiller, on September 27, 2015 – her 95th birthday. Her journey in life ended on the same day it began, 95 years apart.
Faye was born in Wolseley, SK, on September 27, 1920 to Edith and Tom Tiller. At the age of 23, she accepted a transfer with the bank from Winnipeg, MB to Dawson Creek, BC. There she married first husband William Parsons in 1947 and started a family of five children. They moved to Peace River before settling in Grande Prairie in 1950.
She resided in the Grande Prairie area for the rest of her life. In 1968, she married Sheldon Weiss and enjoyed good times with her new in-laws, family and friends, camping, fishing, playing cards, and much more. Faye had a lifelong interest in music, once playing the piano, organ and saxophone.
Faye is survived by her 5 children: Al (Ann) Parsons, Pat (Jim) Thompson, Janine (Jim) McGillivray, Rob (June Fournel) Parsons, and Debbie (Mike) Reid; as well as 11 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren and many friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Sheldon Weiss; her parents, Tom and Edith Tiller; and two brothers: Wilson and Fred.
The celebration of this extraordinary life will take place on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 3:00 pm, at Oliver’s Funeral Home in Grande Prairie (10005 107Ave).
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Grande Spirit Foundation (9505 102 Ave, Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 7G9) or the Grande Prairie Hospice Palliative Care Society (Box 21215, Grande Prairie, AB, T8V 6W7).
