Obituary For Marjorie Ann Love Wendt

Marjorie Ann Wendt, longtime resident of the County of Grande Prairie, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, after a hard-fought battle with cancer, with her family by her side.

Marjorie will be sadly missed by her children: Leslie (Joe), Rod, and Cameron; grandchildren: David (Bernadette), Shana (Liam), Cole, Katie, Taylor and Tyrone; great-grandchildren: Marlo, Malcolm, and Wini; brother Dennis (Audrey); sisters in-law: Carol, Barb and Dorothy; brother in-law Ted; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Marjorie was predeceased by her parents Ed and Mabel Love, her first husband Jim Porter, and her second husband Bill Wendt.

Due to Covid restrictions, a family graveside service will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society – AB/NWT Division (200 325 Manning Rd., NE, Calgary, AB T2E 2P5), or to a charity of one’s choice.

Thinking of you, & yours during this ' season of change' for the Porter Wendt families. Recalling the warmth of your Mom's kitchen many years ago (Leslie & I ,hanging out whenever we could, esp riding our horses wherever we dared), Rod being the quiet brother ( far from what was occurring in the Sutherland home :), & then their Cameron the curious baby brother running about, checking this & that & questions, questions, I realize how fortunate this ol' gal was. As a young man, 15 or 16 Don met Bill, they became friends, another collection of good memories. He too experienced the warmth of Marj"s home. Time marched on, in "70 Don & I wed, 4 children in 5 years, our paths diverted for awhile.. until we moved to our farm in '77. Forever grateful for having Marjorie's family in our circle, we see her caring nature, hard work, honesty, sense of humor, intellect, & curiosity in each of you. Take Care & hope our paths cross sooner than later. Don & Sharon
