Obituary For Marlene Robinson

Marlene Robinson, resident of Sexsmith, formerly of the Lethbridge area, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at the QEII Hospital, at the age of 69 years.

Marlene was born in Lethbridge, AB, in 1948 to Vic and Mary Robinson. She moved to Sexsmith with her family in 1962. She worked as a housekeeper for many years in and around the Sexsmith area. Marlene was an avid collector of many things.

Marlene always had a ready smile so large, it would make her eyes disappear. Although she had many hobbies, the one that occupied a large portion of her time was the compiling of her family tree.

She will be sadly missed by her brothers: John (Sherrill) Robinson, Larry (Donna) Robinson, Ross (Barb) Robinson, and Dennis (Laurie) Robinson; sister Wendy (Bryan) Derocher; sister in-law Eve (Byron) Robinson; brother in-law Luke (Marlis) Periard; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Marlene was predeceased by her father Vic Robinson, mother Mary Robinson, sister Myrna Periard, and brothers Ken and Jim Robinson.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 2:00pm, at the Sexsmith Civic Centre (99 Ave.).

Memorial donations may be made to Elks and Royal Purple - Fund for Children (100, 2629 29 Ave., Regina, SK, S4S 2N9, Memo: Royal Purple Golden Book of Memories, in memory of Marlene Robinson).

Condolences

  • June 24, 2021

I only met Marlene a few times in the company of her friends in Sexsmith, but she and I seemed to hit it off very well. There was always a "Marlene hug" for me whenever we met. I pray and trust that our Lord has welcomed her home and that He will comfort the Robinson family through the sad days ahead.
